We are currently looking for a Sr. Associate/Vice President to join our Marketing and Client Service team and would be based in New York. This individual will be responsible for supporting the Marketing and Client Services Team as well as engaging on projects with multiple departments across Marathon, including Senior Management, Investor Relations, Portfolio Management, Risk, Compliance and Legal Teams.  He/She will become a specialist in providing marketing content for the Marathon’s broad suite of products in global credit strategies. The successful candidate will be resourceful, detail-oriented, and efficient at multi-tasking and problem solving. 

Responsibilities

  • Creating and maintaining fund raising and fund marketing materials as well as ad-hoc marketing and due diligence materials
  • Working directly with portfolio and risk management teams to obtain and synthesize information
  • Prepare communication materials including investor letters, performance updates, market commentary, investor reporting, and educational pieces for public and private credit investors including whitepapers and videos
  • Analyzing quantitative and qualitative information including fund performance and portfolio metrics
  • Compiling/composing materials for investor requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), and Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs)
  • Supporting senior professionals with strategic projects and market research

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: investment banking, investor relations, client service, or equity research
  • Experience working with private funds and/or registered funds and the alternative asset management industry preferred, credit experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a clear ability to effectively coordinate with a wide variety of professionals at all levels and departments within the organization; experience with writing investment commentary or fund marketing letters a plus
  • Detail-oriented and meticulous in preparation of materials
  • Comfortable taking the lead on projects with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills, with multi-tasking abilities to handle pressure effectively to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously while maintaining the highest standards of work product and adhering to stringent deadlines
  • Analytic and strategic thinker with the ability to assess complex situations, make effective recommendations and oversee projects through completion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
  • Undergraduate degree with an excellent academic background; additional credentials including CAIA, CFA, MBA, or CPA, a plus

The average salary for this role is $90,000-$115,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits.  The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, location, skills, training, certifications and education, and in addition we will also consider internal equity and market data.  We do not anticipate that candidates hired will begin at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case by case basis.  Marathon benefits highlights includes (but are not limited to) Medical/Pharmacy, Dental, Vision, HSA, FSA, STD/LTD, Life Insurance, PTO, Commuter Benefits and company provided lunches.
