Overview

The firm manages approximately $20 billion in assets under management across the corporate, real estate, structured credit and asset-based credit markets.  Marathon’s team is fully integrated to capitalize on credit opportunities globally in both the public and private credit markets, with its headquarters in New York and offices in London, Tokyo, Luxembourg, Miami and Los Angeles.

 

We are currently seeking to add an Analyst to our Structured Credit team, supporting the residential whole loans, based out of either New York City or Miami. 

Responsibilities

  • Support the residential whole loan team on trade transactions and asset management of the existing portfolio.
  • Assist in the management of the residential whole loan transaction cash flows (bank account management, monthly distributions, maintenance contributions, etc.)
  • Support the loss mitigation team, including bidding on properties and management of real estate owned
  • Tracking and management of financing lines
  • Manage the supporting loan documentation files and legal assignments of ownership of the loans
  • Manage the Know Your Client and Certificate of Beneficial Ownership process for new transactions
  • Maintain accounting records of residential whole loan pools from acquisition to divestiture
  • Compile and manage the residential whole loan monthly investor financial reporting (portfolio analysis, trade activity, P&L attribution, asset exposure)
  • Update, track, analyze, and book Month End Marks for the residential whole loan portfolio
  • Track counterparty payments and distribute monthly bank statements outlining account activity to the investment teams
  • Assist in the management of transaction cash flows (bank account management, monthly distributions, maintenance contributions, etc.)

Qualifications

  • One to two years of accounting experience REQUIRED, Big 4 preferred
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability and desire to work in a dynamic and demanding environment

The average salary for this role is $100,000-125,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits.  The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, location, skills, training, certifications and education, and in addition we will also consider internal equity and market data.  We do not anticipate that candidates hired will begin at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case by case basis.
