Overview

Marathon Asset Management is a global credit manager with approximately $23 billion in assets under management. Our platform is well-established with a 20+ year track record of strong returns through investments in the global credit and real estate related markets.

 

We are currently looking for a Transactional Counsel to serve as a key member of our Legal Team, based in New York.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and negotiating credit agreements, bond indentures, structured equity agreements and other investment related contracts.
  • Supporting the preparation of the legal analysis for investments in both directly originated financings, and secondary market dislocated investments.
  • Assisting deal teams as they negotiate restructuring agreements.
  • Managing the completion of closing documentation in transactions (in conjunction with third party counsel).
  • Reviewing and advising on matters related to MNPI procedures and related trading issues.
  • Addressing ad-hoc legal questions from internal business partners.
  • Cultivating and promoting relationships with key legal contacts in the opportunistic credit market

Qualifications

The average salary for this role is $150,000-$250,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, location, skills, training, certifications and education, and in addition we will also consider internal equity and market data.
