Overview

Marathon Asset Management is a global credit manager with approximately $23B AUM in. Our platform is well-established with a 25+ year track record of strong returns through investments in the global credit and real estate related markets. We are currently looking for a Structured Credit Associate based in our New York office supporting Equipment Finance & Transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze loan and lease credit opportunities in the transportation and equipment industry.
  • Directly underwrite and manage large ticket transaction (>$5 million) in accordance with Marathon’s policies.
  • Conduct company, peer, industry and documentation analysis and provide feedback on portfolio manager-initiated recommendations
  • Build and maintain financial and asset valuation models using the team’s proprietary model to identify valuation sensitivities
  • Analyze financial statements, equipment valuations, research company management and industry trends, listen to earnings calls, and attend meetings and industry conferences with management/IR team

Qualifications

  • BA or BS Degree.
  • 2+ years of finance experience, preferably in equipment finance or in transportation finance.
  • Experience in financial statement and equipment valuation analysis, good understanding of asset management; credit and lease documentation a plus
  • Strong quantitative, financial and equipment valuation modeling skills, plus good oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with customer-facing skills.
  • Highly motivated, disciplined, responsible personality with attention to detail, high energy level, and strong work ethic.

 

The average salary for this role $115,000 - $135,000 in base pay and is exclusive of any bonuses or benefits.  The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, location, skills, training, certifications and education, and in addition we will also consider internal equity and market data.  We do not anticipate that candidates hired will begin at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case-by-case basis.
