Reporting to the Managing Director, the Analyst will join the Financial Control team, which covers all operational areas including accounting (managerial and statutory reporting), audit, tax, valuations, treasury and more. Based in London, UK, the position provides an exceptional opportunity for individuals looking to make a move into industry or one already in a role to further develop themselves.

Responsibilities

  • Along with the other team members, oversee all aspects of financial integrity, statutory and investment reporting, analysis, accounting, and performance of investments (including real estate, corporate debt, and aircraft investments) owned both directly and through partnerships throughout European jurisdictions.
  • Work closely with the asset management teams to ensure investments are accounted for accurately and are complete
  • Liaise with various external accounting suppliers throughout Europe to ensure instructions are appropriate, clear and are being followed efficiently and effectively, responding to accounting queries
  • Review of local financial statements under specific accounting policies, IFRS and US GAAP, as well as several European GAAPs
  • Liaison with external auditors to ensure that annual audits are properly planned for and carried out effectively
  • Coordination of the bi-annual external valuation of the portfolio
  • Review of VAT/CIT calculations throughout Europe
  • Assistance with the budgeting process
  • Reinforcement and enhancement of control environment
  • Provision of cover for the Operations teams in London, Luxembourg and New York
  • Assistance with ad-hoc projects including acquisitions, sales, re-structuring

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CPA or equivalent) with experience in accounting, tax, auditing, and valuation, with a specific focus on real estate and/or private credit
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting with exceptional academic credentials
  • Strong Technical knowledge of accounting frameworks (i.e. IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP, Lux GAAP)
  • Experience with financial statutory accounting for SPV’s
  • Broad knowledge of financial controls
  • Self-motivated with a diligent and detailed approach to completing tasks
  • Strong analytical skills. Able to understand, question and challenge a range of financial data.
  • Attention to detail with an ordered and logical mindset
  • Committed, hardworking and focused upon delivering results on time
  • Strong communication, organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Excel (to advanced level is desirable)
  • Fluency in English is essential, other European languages an asset (but not required)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic, commitment to excellence and motivation to learn
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task
  • Candidate should be a coachable team player who is willing to embrace a collaborative firm culture

 

 

Compensation:

 

The average salary for this £55,000 - 75,000 GBP in base pay and is exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, location, skills, training, certifications and education, and in addition we will also consider internal equity and market data.
